Early Trauma Approach EMDR

When the past lives in your body, not just your memory

Some experiences happen before we have words for them — before we can make sense of what occurred or why it hurt. Preverbal and early life trauma is stored differently than other memories. You may not be able to recall it clearly, but your body, your nervous system, and your patterns of connection carry it every day.

That's exactly what this work is designed to reach.

What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a gentle, research-backed therapy that helps release trauma stored in the nervous system. Instead of only talking about what happened, EMDR helps your brain and body finish the process they never got to complete, so memories lose their grip, and you can live more fully in the present.

I am an EMDRIA-Certified EMDR therapist and Consultant-in-Training with advanced training in:

  • Somatic & Attachment-Focused EMDR

  • Preverbal trauma protocols

  • Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol (R-TEP)

  • Group Traumatic Episode Protocol (G-TEP)

  • Childhood sexual trauma

This specialized training allows me to work with the earliest, most tender layers of wounding with precision, safety, and deep respect for your pace.

This work may be right for you if:

  • You've tried talk therapy, but your body still reacts as if the past is happening now

  • You carry something from childhood — maybe even before you have words for it

  • You experience flashbacks, nightmares, or panic that seem to come out of nowhere

  • You're living with shame, self-blame, or a sense of being "broken"

  • You've survived abuse, neglect, or childhood sexual trauma and need a safe, steady place to heal

  • You want to move through trauma gently, without being forced to relive every detail

How It Works

Many people worry EMDR will be overwhelming. In reality, it's deeply collaborative and we move at your nervous system's pace.

Sessions generally follow four stages:

Getting to Know You
We start with conversation. What's been hardest? What do you hope for? You'll never be pushed into something you're not ready for.

Building Safety
Before touching any trauma, we build tools and resources together: grounding, breath, imagery, and connection with supportive parts of yourself.

Processing
Using bilateral stimulation (eye movements, taps, or tones), we help your brain reprocess stored trauma. With somatic and attachment-focused training, I help you notice what's happening not just in your mind, but in your body.

Integration
As trauma loosens, we let your nervous system settle into new patterns of safety and calm. You leave grounded.

How We Work Together

Healing preverbal and early life trauma isn't one-size-fits-all. I offer several ways to engage in this work depending on your needs, pace, and goals.

Ongoing Individual Therapy
Traditional weekly therapy provides a consistent, private space to process at your own pace. Sessions are 50 minutes and build gradually over time developing trust, tools, and a steady foundation for healing. This format works well if you value continuity and want to integrate therapeutic work into your regular rhythm of life.

Rapid Transformation Experiences
For those ready to go deeper, faster. Rather than the stop-and-start of weekly sessions, Rapid Transformation Experiences are immersive, extended intensives (one, two, or three days) designed to address root causes rather than just managing symptoms. Each immersive experience includes a pre-immersion preparation session, 4-hour customized intensive sessions, and a post-immersion integration session 2–4 weeks later. Available for individuals and couples.

Not sure which option is right for you? Book a free consultation and we'll figure it out together.

MY APPROACH

I’m Sasha

Healing isn't about fixing you — because you're not broken. Trauma forces us into survival modes that make sense at the time but eventually become too heavy to carry.

My role is to walk alongside you, bringing my training and my humanity, while you stay in control of the process. Together, we create a safe, steady space where your body and mind can finally let go of what's been held for too long.

"Trauma is not what happens to you, but what happens inside you as a result of what happens to you."
