What is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy?‍ ‍

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a holistic therapeutic approach that combines ketamine treatment with psychotherapy sessions designed to support deeper emotional processing, increased self-awareness, and lasting change.

Ketamine may help quiet habitual mental loops and soften internal defenses, allowing clients to access experiences, emotions, and perspectives that may feel difficult to reach in traditional talk therapy alone. Many people describe feeling more connected to themselves, less overwhelmed by fear or shame, and more open to healing and possibility.

KAP is not simply about the medicine itself. The preparation, therapeutic relationship, intention-setting, and integration process are all essential parts of the healing journey.

In this collaborative model:

  • I provide the psychotherapy, preparation, and integration support

  • Journey Clinical provides medical evaluations, prescriptions, and ongoing medical monitoring

‍A Restorative Path Toward Healing & Wholeness

I offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) for individuals, couples, and groups in partnership with Journey Clinical. Sessions are available virtually for clients located in Texas, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado, as well as in-person in Corpus Christi through my partnership with Journey Medical.

KAP combines psychotherapy with the therapeutic use of ketamine to help create space for insight, emotional healing, nervous system regulation, and new ways of relating to yourself and others. This work can be especially supportive for those navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, relationship challenges, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them.

‍ ‍My approach is deeply trauma-informed, relational, and collaborative. You are never pushed beyond your readiness. Together, we move at a pace that honors your nervous system, your lived experience, and your inner wisdom.

What Does Ketamine Feel Like?

Each experience is unique, though many clients describe ketamine sessions as calming, expansive, reflective, or emotionally clarifying.

During a session, you may notice:

  • A sense of spaciousness or distance from overwhelming thoughts

  • Increased self-compassion and emotional openness

  • Greater access to insight, memories, or emotions

  • Dreamlike imagery or shifts in perspective

  • Deep relaxation or nervous system release

You remain supported throughout the experience. I stay present with you the entire time, helping create a grounded, safe, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment.

The medicine effects generally last around 45 minutes, followed by time for gentle reflection and processing together.

We provide flexible, client-centered services to support your unique goals and healing journey. Need something different? We’re happy to explore customized options together.

How the KAP Process Works

1. Medical Consultation

You’ll first meet virtually with a clinician from Journey Clinical for a medical and psychiatric assessment to determine whether KAP is an appropriate and safe option for you.

If approved, their medical team will:

  • Create a personalized treatment plan

  • Prescribe ketamine lozenges

  • Provide education and safety guidance

  • Monitor your progress and outcomes over time

2. Preparation Sessions

Preparation sessions are an essential part of trauma-informed KAP.

Together, we will:

  • Explore your intentions and hopes for treatment

  • Build safety, trust, and emotional grounding

  • Discuss what to expect during the medicine experience

  • Develop tools for nervous system regulation and integration

These sessions help create a supportive foundation for the work ahead.

3. KAP Dosing Sessions

KAP dosing sessions are available:

  • Virtually for clients in Texas, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado

  • In-person in Corpus Christi

During the session:

  • You will self-administer your prescribed ketamine lozenge

  • You’ll be invited to rest in a comfortable reclining position

  • Eye shades and carefully curated music may be used to support inward reflection

  • I remain present throughout the session to provide therapeutic support and grounding

Sessions typically last between 1–2 hours.

4. Integration Therapy

Healing happens not only during the medicine experience, but in how insights are carried into everyday life.

Integration sessions offer space to:

  • Process emotions, memories, and insights

  • Explore shifts in patterns or perspectives

  • Deepen self-understanding

  • Strengthen nervous system regulation

  • Support meaningful and sustainable change

Integration helps bridge the experience into your relationships, choices, and daily life.
