Integrated medicine

This medicine is used in conjunction with psychotherapy for treatment of PTSD, depression, and complex trauma. This service requires medical clearance and consultation, medicine administration in a safe, supervised setting, integration therapy before and after ketamine sessions and medicine prescribed and administered by a licensed medical provider. I provide the psychotherapy component in collaboration with medical professionals.

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” — Carl Jung

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a compassionate, collaborative approach that combines the neurobiological benefits of ketamine with trauma-informed, relational therapy. When used in low doses, ketamine can help quiet repetitive thought patterns, soften protective emotional defenses, and gently shift the nervous system into a more open, flexible state. In this space, many people find it easier to access emotions, memories, and perspectives that have long felt distant or overwhelming.

What makes KAP truly powerful isn’t the medication alone, it’s the therapeutic support that surrounds it. With careful guidance, the insights and experiences that emerge can be explored, understood, and integrated into daily life. When clinically appropriate, this work may include Ketamine Assisted EMDR Therapy™, allowing trauma processing to unfold with greater ease, safety, and nervous system support.

A Thoughtful, Supportive Process

In partnership with licensed medical providers, we begin with thorough screening, preparation, and education to ensure Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy is a safe and appropriate option for you. Sessions often involve a low-dose ketamine lozenge in a calm, comfortable environment. During the experience, I provide gentle therapeutic guidance while you remain inwardly focused and supported.

Following ketamine sessions, we meet for integration and ongoing therapy, often incorporating Ketamine Assisted EMDR Therapy™, somatic approaches, or other trauma-informed modalities. These sessions help you make sense of what surfaced, strengthen new insights, and translate your experience into meaningful, sustainable change. We also openly review potential benefits, risks, and contraindications so that each step of the process aligns with your values, goals, and readiness.

My Approach to Ketamine-Assisted Therapy

I believe Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy works best when paired with personalized, body-based therapy that honors the whole person—mind, body, and nervous system. My approach is grounded in methods I’m deeply trained in and passionate about, including:

  • Ketamine Assisted EMDR Therapy™

  • Somatic & Attachment-Focused EMDR (Certified; Consultant-in-Training)

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (Certified Basic)

  • Brainspotting

  • Hypnotherapy

  • IFS-informed and Ego States work

  • Yoga-based nervous system and regulation practices

By integrating ketamine with these modalities, we’re able to work gently yet effectively with trauma, stress, and attachment wounds where they are often stored, in the nervous system and body, not just the mind. Together, we focus on increasing regulation, reconnecting you with your inner resources, and supporting lasting shifts in how you feel, relate, and move through the world.

Who Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Can Help

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy may be especially supportive for individuals experiencing depression, PTSD, moral injury, chronic stress, attachment trauma, or a sense of feeling “stuck” despite previous therapy. This work is not about quick fixes or bypassing pain it’s about creating a safe, collaborative space where real healing can unfold.

We move at a pace that feels right for you, honoring your lived experience while supporting the changes that matter most, emotionally, relationally, and in everyday life.

What to Expect in Your KAP Process

Step 1: Medical Intake & Coordination

Before beginning, you will meet with a licensed prescriber for a thorough medical intake to ensure KAP is safe and appropriate for you.

  • This is a separate session from therapy available virtually with a trusted prescriber.

  • The prescriber may be able to bill your insurance for the medical portion.

  • I collaborate directly with your prescriber to coordinate dosing and safety, so your care is seamless and supportive.

Step 2: 90-Minute Preparation Session (Scheduled Before Your Journey)

Before your medicine session, we’ll meet for a 90-minute preparation session to:

  • Explore your intentions, needs, and hopes for the journey.

  • Review your history, symptoms, and patterns (including trauma, OCD, eating disorders, or relational struggles).

  • Introduce grounding tools and somatic practices to support you during and after your experience.

  • Begin setting a personalized roadmap that integrates your goals with the KAP process.

Step 3: Journey Session

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Journey (Approximately 3–4 hours)
Ketamine Assisted EMDR Therapy™ (60–90 minutes, when appropriate)

The journey session is an immersive, supportive healing experience designed to help you safely explore and process what’s ready to emerge. You’ll receive your prescribed ketamine in a carefully prepared, monitored setting that prioritizes comfort, safety, and nervous system regulation.

I remain present with you throughout the experience offering grounding, gentle guidance, and trauma-informed support, whether we are meeting in person or virtually. Some moments may be quiet and inward, while others may involve active therapeutic engagement. We always move at a pace that feels right for you.

When clinically appropriate, a 60–90 minute Ketamine Assisted EMDR Therapy™ session may be integrated into the journey. This allows trauma processing, emotional release, and nervous system integration to occur with greater ease, depth, and stability.

Depending on your needs and intentions, therapeutic approaches may be thoughtfully woven into the session, including:

  • EMDR or bilateral stimulation to process trauma, distressing memories, and intrusive thoughts

  • IFS- and Ego States–informed therapy to connect with protective or wounded parts with compassion

  • Somatic practices and breathwork to support regulation and embodied safety

  • Hypnotherapy and guided imagery to access insight, meaning, and new possibilities

  • ERP or I-CBT–informed strategies to gently soften compulsions, fears, and intrusive thinking

  • Attachment-focused repair practices to support trust, connection, and relational healing

Each journey is unique. The experience is guided by your nervous system, your goals, and your readiness—always collaborative, always respectful, and always centered on your healing.

Step 4: Nourishment & Rest (1-3 hrs.)

  • Following your ketamine journey, and low-dose Ketamine Assisted EMDR Therapy™ when part of your session, you’ll have one to three hours set aside for rest, nourishment, and nervous system regulation. This recovery period is a vital component of Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, supporting both emotional integration and physical grounding after ketamine treatment.

  • Many clients find this period of quiet time essential for integrating insights.

  • You’re encouraged to eat, walk, journal, or simply rest before returning for the integration session later in the day.

Step 5: Same-Day Integration Session (90 minutes)

We will meet again later in the afternoon for a 90-minute integration session.

  • This provides the space to process your journey while it’s still fresh, and anchor insights into daily life.

  • Together, we may use EMDR, ART, somatic grounding, or parts work to deepen the healing that began in your session.

  • You’ll receive a personalized integration workbook with reflection prompts, grounding exercises, and practices to continue at home.

  • This ensures the medicine session leads to sustainable change, not just a momentary shift.
